Equipment
Bows
Our bows are 25lb draw re-curve bows. They are real bows, not toys. They work for both right and left handed shooters and are easy to learn to use. The shooter has control over how far they draw the bow, so you can “half draw” if you are playing with younger or less experienced athletes or let fly from a full draw and zing your friends.
Participants may play with their own bow, providing the max draw weight of the bow does not exceed 25lbs.
Arrows
Our arrows come with a foam pad on the tip. They are tested to perform indoors (in big spaces), outdoors, and in all weather conditions.
Getting with an Uprising Archery arrow hurts way less than a paintball and has been endured with smiling faces by athletes as young as six years old.
Masks
Masks are highly recommended for Uprising Arrow Tag play. Paintball masks work well as do padded goggles or safety glasses. Hard plastic safety glasses are not recommended because the hard plastic can cut the skin on impact. Players choosing not to wear a mask during play will have to sign an additional waiver.
Golden Rules
- Do not shoot anything that is not part of the game. This includes people, animals, fixtures of the building and eliminated players not currently participating
- Do not use grab, hold, hit or otherwise interact with opponents during play. This is an archery battle, not real life. All attacks in the game are limited to shooting foam tipped arrows at opponents.
- Play with honor. If you are hit, admit it. Do not feign surrender to gain advantage, use bystanders for cover or use any other means of gaining advantage that creates an unsafe or unfair environment.
- Have fun. This is a game, not actual combat. Enjoy yourself and encourage others to play hard and do the same.
Games
Arena Archery
This is our signature game for league and tournament play. It is essentially a game of dodge ball with bows and arrows designed to be played with between five and seven players on each side.
Play is broken into five, five minute rounds and the team with the highest score at the end of each round gets a victory. The team with the most victories at the end of five rounds wins.
Scoring- Teams receive a point for each target or player they hit. At the end of the round the team with the most points wins the round.
Players who are hit during play must hold their bow above their head and move to the sideline. They are eliminated from play until the end of the round or until one of their teammates catches an arrow shot by the opposing team and chooses to bring them back in.
Capture the Flag
Players are divided into two teams. Each team has a flag that is placed or hidden on their side of the field. Teams attempt to capture the other teams flag and unite it with their own to win the game.
-When a player is shot they must return to their own flag and count to 20 before they can become an active participant in the game again.
-If a player is hit when they are carrying the flag, they must leave the flag at the spot they were hit.
-Players must have possession of the opposing team’s flag before they can take possession of their own. A player may not move the flag of their own team.
-The game is over when one player has both flags in their possession. That player’s team is the winning team.

Uprising Archery equipment is available for rental so that you can use it at your private parties and events.
